Our Advocacy Mission

CATRDR is not just a registry — it’s a voice for the voiceless in regenerative medicine. We advocate for ethical inclusion, equitable access, and ancestry-informed policy change. Our mission is to ensure that regenerative and advanced therapies are accessible not just to a privileged few, but to the global majority.

Working Across Borders and Systems

Our advocacy spans governments, global institutions, healthcare networks, and grassroots communities. We focus on:
  • National Rare Disease Policies – Advising governments in Tanzania, India, Zambia, and the UK on registry integration and treatment access.
  • Equity in Stem Cell and Cord Blood Banking – Promoting public registry funding and inclusive donor recruitment strategies.
  • Inclusion in Clinical Trials – Campaigning for ancestral diversity in gene therapy and stem cell trials.
  • Protection of Genetic Identity – Advocating for culturally sensitive data use, consent frameworks, and genomic sovereignty.
  • Transnational Support Pathways – Lobbying for cross-border care agreements and transplant coordination for underserved populations.

Why Impact Matters

When a child in Dar es Salaam, Delhi, or Durban needs a matched stem cell donor, it should not be a matter of luck or wealth. Every donation to CATRDR helps us close the ancestral match gap, reduce transplant wait times, and provide rare disease grants where no other support exists.

Our Global Impact
  • Regulatory approvals secured in 4 countries.
  • Over 7,000 registered members across 18 nationalities
  • First ancestry-linked rare disease map of the Commonwealth
  • 200+ families supported with diagnostic and treatment guidance
  • Early-phase transplant success stories in Tanzania, UK, and Saudi Arabia
  • £200,000 mobilised for grant-eligible treatment access
